It's testimony time, despite all the troubles around the world, God has kept us till today, it's more than enough to be thankful for.
"Good
morning sweets. I’m grateful for so much. At the end of 2013 I was in a very
dark place, toxic relationship, wanted to quit music and was worried about my
weight, health issues and actually believed everyone around me was balling except
me lol, but This year!!! I’ve grown a very thick skin, so things that will
usually hurt are now refreshment when my friends and I are gisting lol (bad
belle is allowed), my daughter graduated, moved into a bigger house with
everything I want in it, I invested more in business and God gave me more, can
afford to take care of my parents, I no longer give excuses for my failures, I
just get up and ask the Holy Spirit to help, discernment is my best friend and
even when it’s far from me I retrace my steps. I’m more mature, not quick to
anger like I was in the past and my year is ending in the most beautiful way,
My whole family is here with me. I ve you guys. There’s so much to be thankful
for. 2015 will be a better year, I know this cos I know my father, he loves me
enough to ensure that my testimonies never end. What’s your testimony? Let’s
rejoice with u #merrychristmas#spreadlove #leavehate."

year leading to dec 2013 was a depressing year, lost someone really dear to me,
was with someone with the highest level of insecurity u can ever imagine, which
depressed me even further, my grades were terribly marred! I was faced with
challenges both left right and centre. This exact day dec 2013 I was in the
highest point of depression, away from my family, trying to surmount a huge
financial mountain! God showed up. That’s my testimony! What’s yours"

How I deal with confusion
My practical ways of dealing with confusion are as follows.
- I breathe in and out when the confusion is intense. I was taught how to breathe in and out in my nursery school, it was just one of those things that our class teach taught us during little physical exercises. I heard one woman talking about how she controls the hot temper of her little son, she said when the temper is very high, she calls his name, like she wants to praise him and tells him breathe in, the little boy does that, and she says out, and he does that too, they both do this repeatedly until the boy finally calms down before she starts teaching him the dangers of hot temper. She discovered it worked well over time. (Another lesson here is catch them young). I thought within myself, that this can also be helpful, that moment when you don’t know what to do, when everything seems muddled up. So, I started practicing it when I’m in any situation like that. It’s a magic that I cannot really explain how it works but it does. It has a way of calming my nerves.
- I try to separate me from the situation at that moment. The mind is a battle field, to me, who is in charge is key, my ability to take charge is very important to me, because it can make me take good actions or bad actions depending on whether I’m charge or not. So, how do I separate me from the situation, it’s like I am driving a car, I am heading to a particular direction but I decide

What is the cause of the disagreement?
Today, we want to share the story of a particular woman.
Some things are ridiculous and strange, but they happen, in
fact, may be this is even trivial compared to some other stories we have not
heard.
So according to the sender of this story:
Her aunt got married to her heartthrob and everything was
normal and going on very well, they were not very rich but they were very
comfortable, they had a sweet home, neighbours envied their intimacy, they were
a role model to a lot of young couples and aspiring couples.
Two years later after their wedding, they had a bouncing
baby girl, Wow, God is good, the couple was very excited at the birth of their
princess, the love that existed between these two naturally was extended to their
lovely angel. The man was very fond of the daughter, always excited he is a
father now, even his friends will tell him jokingly that he is behaving as if
he is the first father in the whole world.
A year and a half later, the couple had another baby girl and two years following the 2nd girl, another baby girl arrived, the family is growing, there is love, there is money, health and every good thing. The first daughter was 4 years and 6months old, the second was 3 years and the third was just a year old.
All of a sudden, the husband started behaving like he is
frustrated,

Self Evaluation
I decided to stay alone in a very quiet place
to be able to meditate and to evaluate my actual performance using my personal
targets, as this year is comes to an end.
I took the
small note pad I wrote my goals for the year on the 1st of January,
2014, I started marking them one by one to know how well I have done, based on the
targets I gave myself. Well, after marking, I got 60%, I gave myself this mark
because some of the goals were met even beyond my expectation while some were
not met at all (beyond human control), and some others can only be measured on
a long term bases (to be realistic). That’s me grading myself, I may be wrong
if you give me a grade.
In previous
years, I usually don’t take the setting of targets and self evaluation serious,
I just say my new year resolutions with my mouth and never write anything down,
I didn’t follow the rule of “make the vision plain upon the table” so of course
I couldn’t run with the vision. Back then, I can use my mouth to say a lot of things
I want to achieve each year that passes by (most of them unrealistic), I will use
my mouth to give the target, give the strategy but never follow through with
actions.
I can
remember specifically in 2012 and 2013, I felt very

Nuggets for you
- Just as gold is not easy to come by, but it's value is worth the energy spent on the search for it, dig deeper and deeper for that precious dream of yours.
- Look behind the scenes of that beautiful movie that keeps you talking because of how well it entertained you, you will notice that it wasn't fun to make the movie the fun it is now.
- Don't concentrate on what you can grab for yourself only, think of what you can give out to help others.
- Don't say "they" will correct the wrong, be the "they" that will correct the wrong.
- Be grateful for who you are now even as you aspire for more, many are not even an inch near where you are now.
- Opportunities only favour those who are ready and recognize them, don't allow an opportunity stroll pass you casually.
- You can never reach a destination if you don't take the first step.

Woman, Live A Life Of Purpose By Grace Efezokhae
The clamour for women empowerment and the fight for women rights have been a heated debate for a really long time. Some opine that a woman’s duty in life is just to tend to her husband and children and generally keep the home and that women ought not to have career goals but rather focus as just home makers.
Women who are ambitious about their life goals are not well respected as they tend to seem as bossy independent women who will never do well as home makers.
The heated debate seems to me as a long ending issue that will keep surfacing overtime. But then recently, in my quiet time with God, I came across a verse in the Book of Judges that gave me something really deep to think about.
In Judges 4:4- “And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time”.
I meditated deeply on this verse and The Holy Spirit gave me a new understanding. Deborah was not just a wife of Lapidoth but she was a prophetess and a judge over Israel. The main point here
Your inadequacy is not the issue | © Fola Daniel Adelesi
Often times we feel inadequate and we think we cannot achieve what is ahead of us because of how inadequate we think we are. When we are given some responsibilities we look more at what is lacking in us rather than what we can still do. We often talk about the things we cannot do instead of looking at the help we can get. So, unconsciously, we limit ourselves with the talk about our inadequacy when it actually cannot limit us.
We are more powerful than those inadequacies we are talking about. They are not strong enough to limit us from achieving the things that we desire to achieve. We have only been limited because we allowed those inadequacies to limit us.
The extent of power that anything has over us is determined by how much power we have released unto that thing. if you have not been able to do anything that you desire to do, it is certainly not because of the inadequacy you are looking at. I can tell it’s either you are not ready to do it or it is something you were not meant to do at all.
Whatever it is that you were designed or wired to do, there is no inadequacy that can stop you except you let it get in the way. I need you to understand that the power within you is far more than the things around you. with the power within you it is possible to break obvious limits.
You are to focus on what’s inside you and not what is outside you. if all you see is limitations and inadequacies then you will see more of that. When you choose to see possibilities then you will see more of those possibilities.
I dare say that most of the people who have achieved something meaningful in life have, at one time or the other

EMPLOYEE HEADACHES: Escaping Hiring Blunders by Adeleke David
Hiring adventures, for a startup, can be filled with headaches. Yes, they are adventures because the startup is prone to making critical mistakes in the hiring process. The problem here is that a wrong hiring decision impact greatly on a startup than on a larger organization. Take a look at the math:
A startup of two staff hires a wrong third person; the effect of the wrong hiring decision is one out of three, which is a 33% negative impact.
A large company of 99 staff hires a wrong 100th person; the effect of the wrong hiring decision is one out of hundred, which is a 1% negative impact.
Consider that the larger company has a financial cushion, has operating systems and experienced professionals to negate the effect of the 1% wrong hire while the startup is left to deal with a lethal 33% negative impact from just one wrong hiring decision. That is a glimpse of the cost of

- Spend your energy on providing a solution to the problem, instead of complaining about the problem.
- Open your mind to learn regularly, even from the least person.
- That you have failed before is not a crime, but relaxing to remain in failure is preparing to be in bondage.
- Don't loose any virtue you have no matter what, rather build your virtues.
- Give a helping hand to the next person for a good course, when you build the people around you, you are building your future.
- In your planning, don't forget to prioritize (scale of preference), learn to say no vehemently to distractions, they are goal killers.

Written Goals by David Adeleke
People live up to what they have written down.
According to the Harvard Business Review (HBR OnPoint 2001, PN* 7915), once
someone puts something in writing, the odds that he or she will fulfill the
commitment greatly increases. This principle of life is proven in several ways;
for example, people who write down their goals are much more likely to follow,
remember and fulfill these goals than people who do not write them down. Furthermore,
once someone puts a commitment into writing, they feel they are obliged to
fulfill it. This explains why successful organizations have the habit of
putting up their mission statements, visions and core values all over the walls
of their offices. This serves as a way of reminding their stakeholders about
the direction in which they are heading.
Of course, this rule, as scientifically proven as
it is, doesn’t work for everybody. There are those that, no matter how much
writing they do, will never live by their commitments and achieve their goals.
However, that shouldn’t be you. The understanding of this rule has helped
improve my level of productivity. For example, before heading into the youth
service year, I made a list of 12 goals I must achieve by July 2015. Two, out
of those goals have been achieved, one of which is to become a feature writer
on Bella Naija (oya, clap for me now!). Also, the fact that I wrote down my
goals as afforded me the opportunity of revisiting and updating them almost
weekly. In the last four months, I have updated the list more than twice. In
the process, I took out the goals that no longer

Only leaders with a heart | © Fola Daniel Adelesi
Many leaders around the world talk about transformation and that is even the song on the lips on my own leaders at the moment. They think that they can just create some documents, have nice power points or some great TV commercials and the people will believe that they can truly transform the country or the jurisdiction they have to lead.
Transformation is not in what you say or even think that you will do. You can’t transform the people you are leading or the place you are leading just by doing very nice public relations. Take a look at all the leaders around the world who have truly done some transformation where they are. It is glaring that they did not do it with all the technological tools that we use to bamboozle the people we are trying to lead today.
If you are going to transform the people you lead or the place where you are leading you will need the real heart to transform. Transformation is not something that will just be on your lips and you think it can happen. You must have the people in your heart. It is important to have the goals, ambitions, welfare of those places and people first in your heart and truly love them before you can transform anything.
For example in Nigeria, the leaders that we had immediately after independence did so much for us yet the resources they had in those days was very limited. Through those leaders we got
