The Artist

I like encouraging people. I believe strongly that once there is life, there is A BIG hope.  I write this, not to you only but most importantly to myself.

I was thinking about the ARTIST; I listen to music, I watch movies, I listen to jokes, I read blogs, I listen to news and entertainment generally. My reaction to all these is laughing, smiling, sometimes flooded with euphoria, frowning, screaming, crying etc. depending on what it is I am reading, listening to or watching. I can either stay glued to any of them that captivate me and get entertained, or walk away if I am disappointed ( I feel they are not interesting).

The next thing is for me to start applauding or castigating (ah this one cannot even sing, see his cockroach voice, which kind makeup be this for this actress face, na who even write this foolish movie or book sef?) the blame can go on and on. I concentrated on the blame game because it’s easier and common.

I visit the blogs to read the comments and put my comments as well. I never thought that the artist that my castigating team and I insulted on the blogs went to the blogs too, read all the comments, picked the ones that can help him improve on his skills, although he felt bad by some of the comments and also happy by the few ones that saw his light. He went back to strategize and came back stronger.

I saw him again and I said wow, this is what we are talking about, kudos to you my guy, my team also said congratulations to him but of course some of the bad belles are still there ( they are actually
a blessing in disguise) I will talk about them in another article. But my guy has improved, the light is shining better now and oh, how I wish I can shine like him.

Now let’s see what my guy has been through before he was able to bring out the first rubbish (according to the castigating team).
  • He created: coming up with a fresh idea is not always easy, even if it’s something others are doing already, like singing and the likes. Creating yours is a huge task and often very demanding.
  •  He practiced: creating a fresh idea is the first step; execution is a different ball game. The practical part of practicing is very tough because you have to repeat the same thing several times until you come up with something reasonable.
  • He fought with discouragement: Some friends and family members may have scorned him, telling him he is deceiving himself, yet he kept telling himself I will NOT be discouraged. It is a real fight for him to forge ahead with the original plans in the midst of discouragement, especially from loved ones.
  • He launched out: And yes, finally my guy is out with what he created. There are so many tough routes to this destination but he scaled through.
Now, if I sit down and all I do to this guy is to say only the things he has done wrong, am I being reasonable without thinking of all he’s been through to get to this stage?

My message to my guy is, if you were able to scale through all the hurdles and you brought out the so-called rubbish, you are a SUPERMAN and I know that with your kind of spirit, my negative comments can do you nothing, You now know what to improve on and the next time I see you, I have no option but to applaud your creativity and sing your praise.

Never allow the people standing firm to pull you down through discouragements to succeed in doing so, continue with whatever value you are adding to yourself, learn from your mistakes but do not stop, navigation is necessary when needed but do not stop that journey to success. The same people pulling you down will use you as an example to encourage others tomorrow. BE the STAR you are.
