Talented Cobhams Asuquo is 34 today

Cobhams Asuquo

Happy birthday to Cobhams Emmanuel Asuquo. He is an epitome of inspiration to a lot of people. The music producer, song writer, singer turns 34 years old today.

He’s been married to another epitome of inspiration Ojuolape Veronica (Nee Olukanni) since 2010. They have a lovely son together.

His song “ordinary people” is a wonderful song.

Ibrahim Babangida says, they were angels.

So listening to the radio today, the former military ruler in Nigeria, Gen Ibrahim Babangida told his interviewers recently that if what he read on the papers is happening truly, it means they were angels in their time. Meaning it wasn’t as bad as it is right now.

“I don’t have the facts but if what I read in the papers is currently what is happening then I think we were angels,”

Obasanjo attacks Jonathan, accuses the president of squandering foreign reserve

According to former president Olusegun Obasanjo, Nigeria’s foreign reserve depleted by about 45% from about $67billion to about $30billion now. He said this while hosting the South-West women leaders at his residence in Abeokuta Monday 5th January. He buttressed that the foundation of Nigeria’s leadership is a major problem to the growth of the Nigerian economy. He said he is not quarrelling with president Goodluck Jonathan, also that he is not apprehensive over the forth coming elections. He urges everyone to vote, as people’s vote is their decision in the selection of their leaders. Read what he said below:

“Our economy should not have been this bad. When I was leaving office about eight years ago, I left a very huge reserve after we had paid all our debts. Almost $25billion we kept in what they called excess crude. The excess from the budget we were saving as reserve for the rainy days. When we left in May 2007, the reserve was said to have been raised to $35billion.

Determination Produces Strength For Achievement

When we are determined for a good course, we have a positive energy that drives us towards a goal. It makes us persevere to walk through and jump all the hurdles to be able to achieve that difficult goal. It gives us the energy to fight obstacles and move against the wind that tends to blow us away from the goal.

This is the power that backs us up when we have done our research and we are sure that the destination we are heading is worth the stress to get there.

Nuggets for you

  • A life that is not set, will be off set.
  • Will power brings an uncommon strength.
  • Constant confession of positive life without backing it with the necessary action produces emptiness.
  • Self deception is a disaster that will eventually bring disgrace.
  • The acts of today produces the results of tomorrow.
  • Never allow people to put you where you don't belong, choose where you belong.

Set 2015 goals and achieve them.

Whether we have small or big goals, meeting them can change our entire lives, so for us to actualize them, we need to set them properly. Anything not done properly from the beginning always end up in a mess or takes a lot of effort to correct.

We have to know why we are setting goals, the main reason we set goals is to become a better person in life, it is always towards positivity, to get the pleasure that goes with achievement.

For 2015, we need to sit down alone, think deep on what we really want and pray fervently about them. The reason for being alone when trying to make these kinds of decisions is because, for some of us, the decisions we make that will guide us to set our goals and achieve them can change our lives forever. Life is per head and sometimes we need to carve out that moment with ourselves alone and consult our creator. So what are those critical things we must change, we must practice, we must start, we must conclude, we must give out, we must take for ourselves, those friends we must make now and the ones we must remove from our clique. That passion we have to launch, nurture to ensure it doesn’t die.

If you look back and decide to think about all that has happened for you in the year, you will realize that you may not have hit a jackpot but it wasn’t all bad. There may have been some troubled times but I believe you had some good time too.

When we look only at our troubles, we will never see anything good and what happens eventually is that we miss out on some very important things in life. That is why you need to

Grace Efezokhae: The Crazy Line Between Finding Love And Being Desperate

Proverbs 27:7- “Honey seems tasteless to a person who is full, but even bitter food tastes sweet to the hungry” (NLT)

I remember vividly the first time I came across this verse in the Bible, God made me remember a scenario that occurred in my undergraduate days.  A room-mate of mine went home for a short break and it was a normal thing to bring back something for the girls. This sisi came back with plantain chips named “blessed mike”. We all laughed over the funny name of the chips which we later found out to be tasteless.

Weeks later, all three of us were awake at about 11pm and were so hungry. The quickest option was to eat the “blessed mike” chips.  Alas! The chips tasted so sweet and we were all surprised at how the change had tasted over the past few weeks. The point I’m trying to draw out here is that the chips tasted so sweet at that time not because of anything but for the fact that we were desperately hungry and needed to eat just anything about that time.

This same scenario applies in our daily lives. Ever seen a lady or a dude so desperate for love, it’s so obvious to everyone. All they talk and dream about is finding the Mr. or Miss. Right at all costs possible, by crook or by hook. The statement that says “desperate times call for desperate measures” is all a factor of fear. A lady in her late 30s is already being pressured to

Roxandra Akinola: Hello Beautiful…

Hello Beautiful,

I don’t know if you ever get discouraged and a bit frightened every now and then like I do, if you do then this is for you.

Life is such a serious business that we don’t want to mess it up. We have all heard stories and even met people who have squandered their futures with seemingly trivial decisions. And these well-meaning stories and life examples make us a bit frightened and discouraged or depressed when we go through down times in our academics, careers, ministry and relationships.

I want to however remind you that after the rain comes sunshine.
The Bible tells us that there is a season for everything under the sun Ecclesiastes 3:1.
No pain lasts forever, no struggle, no difficulty, no challenge! It MUST give way to better days.

The things you are doing now | © Fola Daniel Adelesi

When we lay our hands on certain things we sometimes think that we are doing them just for fun. We start out and in some cases it appears we are just doing them so that people do not think we are not busy. If only we know the impact of the things we are doing right now and how far they can go, we will either take them seriously or even stop them completely.

You should never underrate the importance of what you are doing right now or its possible magnitude. We may even start doing certain things and we think no one is watching until one day when you start having a conversation and someone makes reference to that thing you thought no one was seeing.

It is very important that you ensure you are doing something which will bring a
