Wilfred Agbonavbare died in Spain after battling with cancer for a long time, the late Super Eagles player who was also a goal keeper was hospitalized in the Prince of Asturias hospital in Alcala de Henares before he finally gave up the ghost on Tuesday.
To honour his memory, the Spanish club where he also played in the 90s, named one of the gates to their stadium after him.
The gate formerly known as "Gate 1 Vallecas Stadium" was named"Gate Wilfred Agbonabvare" to always remember the late footballer.
The Spanish club through their #FuerzaWilfred campaign raised over N4million to settle the hospital bills of the footballer.
Agbonavbare was laid to rest on Wednesday in Spain as family members, well wishers, the president of Rayo Vallecano club and others witnessed.
